I always wanted to be a writer when I grew up, but  had to do some other things first so I would have something to write about.  I began my career working with children in the psychiatric unit of Children's Hospital in Seattle.  After a stint in graduate school, I moved to teaching school.  Two babies later, I decided to follow my lifelong ambition and write for a living.

My articles have appeared in Book Links, Highlights for Children, Northwest Baby & Child, and many other publications.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Cornell University and a Master of Education degree from the University of Washington.

I belong to the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators, and to the National Association for Gifted Children.  My special interests include reading and literacy, autism, health and nutrition, gifted education, and raising the best little girls in the world.
